Ketogenic Diet for Cancer

Ketogenic Diet for Cancer

Most people know someone affected by cancer. What you may not know is the ketogenic diet is being used for the treatment of cancer. The stories coming out of the research are astounding. Yet most of the medical community refuses to acknowledge it and share it with their patients.

Today I write for that reason to share information that may prove useful to you or someone that you love. Some of you may or may not know I have taught ketogenic nutrition for the last 3 years. Initially it was to help my clients with weight loss. Remarkably, those clients, began to show improvement in their health as their bodies healed and weight loss just became added value.

Their bodies were pain free, they were reversing Type 2 Diabetes, getting off statin medication, losing weight and even improving their relationships. Today I’m going to share with you some great information about the ketogenic for cancer.

Below, Shawn Wells shares his remarkable story of a woman he worked with who was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumor and was given only 3 month to live. Within 4 weeks of working together the tumor SHRUNK 80-90%!!!! Yet none of her doctors ever told her about ketogenic nutrition. Thank God for Shawn Wells having the courage to share this info with her and giving her a true fighting chance to live. You can listen to his podcast where he shares this amazing story here.

I wanted to share a personal story with you that I haven’t shared here before. Several years ago, I had a friend who was after being in remission for 2 years, re-diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer because of a spot that was missed under her arm during a double mastectomy. One day, she asked me to go with her to her chemo appt. and as we were driving, she started to sob. She said, “If my white blood cell count isn’t high enough I can’t get chemo and they said I have less than 6 months to live without it.” I asked her what they were doing to keep her white blood cell count up since your body does that naturally. She replied… nothing.

Sure enough. Her white blood cell count wasn’t high enough and we drove back home in silence. I started doing research and even though at that time, I didn’t come across the term ketogenic diet, I learned that sugar feeds cancer cells and that things like rice and bread are converted to sugar in the body as well. We then changed up her diet, added alkaline water and supplements and the next month her white blood cell count was good and she got her round of chemo. Needless to say she felt like utter crap for weeks after.

She came to me and told me she wasn’t going to live out her life feeling like crap after her chemo so she decided to refuse chemo. Based on my research, I encouraged her to do her own research and and suggested she consider refusing her PET scan as well because they inject glucose solution into the body because it lights up cancer cells – DUH! Because the cancer cells are having an all you can eat – sugar feeds cancer cells.

Laying in bed late one night shortly after we started this regimen, I prayed, “God, you and I both know I’m not a doctor and I don’t want to ever cause her harm. This feels right but I really need a sign we are on the right track.” I’m not kidding! Within a minute my phone dinged. It was a text from Janelle… “Oh my gosh! I can’t believe how good I feel. I’ve cleaned the house, done the laundry, and went grocery shopping. I haven’t had this much energy in forever!”

I said… “Thank you God, I’ll take it.”

A couple months later, she made the decision to have a PET scan. She called me right after, screaming and so happy! She told me the doctors were shocked at how little the cancer had grown. She had cancer in her bones, liver and lungs and for months it had been aggressive and now they’re shocked by the minimal growth. The doctors knew she refused treatment. Guess how many of them asked her what she was doing instead? ZERO!

Sadly, a few months later she lost her fight. In my heart I believe she wanted to fight. But after a trip to Italy where she ate like she was dying, I believe it had a negative impact on her body and the cancer ultimately won.

She told me from her hospital bed that she wanted to get back on her regimen and keep fighting because we both knew it was working. She saw the results from taking a chance opposing the treatments the doctors were advising and taking action and her own and she had greatly improved. Sadly, her husband called and said they talked about it and decided she was done fighting. Believe me when I tell you this lives forever with me, because I knew we were on to something and I believe in my heart she had a chance.

In Memory of Janelle Bento-Williams

I vowed after Janelle passed to share her experience with everyone I come across who has cancer. The best part is through my journey of learning about and teaching ketogenic nutrition, I have been blessed to come across and learn about the work and experience of people like Shawn Wells, Dr. Thomas Seyfriend, Dr. Dominic D’Agostino, Ellen Davis, Patricia Daly, Elaine Cantin, Dr. Carlos A Rivas, Dr. Shekhar S. Pai, Andrew Scarborough, Danny Owen, Louison Labeaume, Jerry Allway and Swetha Reddy to name just a few.

These people are going against the grain and challenging the status quo and making a difference in their own lives and the lives of others. And more and more research is coming out all the time.

Unfortunately, without MD behind my name, most people dismiss the info I share and the opportunity to go research on their own. Mostly because they are discouraged and the idea is dismissed by their physician. But I don’t let it stop me.

People would be furious with me if I put sugar in the gas tank of their car, but if I tell them to stay away from bread, they think I’m crazy. That’s ok. I’m okay with crazy. The science says otherwise and it takes courage to go against the grain. We have to realize we are ultimately in charge of our own health and well being. Our bodies are divinely designed and they are amazing! If we cut our hand it heals, if we break a bone it heals. If we give it the right environment – it can heal.

Yet our physicians are educated at institutions that are funded by pharmaceutical companies that teach them how to treat and not heal the body. And most people are quick to not question their doctor, lose hope and settle for a death sentence. Shawn Wells’s influence and information changed this woman’s life. And I believe that’s how we find healing for God’s people.

If you want more information, I highly recommend Ellen Davis’s book “Fight Cancer With a Ketogenic Diet”.

Christophe Quancard is a cancer survivor who credits the ketogenic diet for putting his stage 4 brain cancer into remission. He was diagnosed right before his wedding and given 15 months to live. – Dr. D’Agostino is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida College Of Medicine, Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology where he develops and tests metabolic therapies, including alternative energy substrates and ketogenic agents for neurological disorders, cancer and wound healing.

If you or someone you know has cancer, please do your own research and learn more about the negative effects of glucose on your body and the healing effects of a ketogenic diet and metabolic therapy for cancer. It’s life changing!
